Our research team lead the clinical trials for spinal muscular atrophy and Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Hong Kong. We also study the clinical impact of the new therapies to rare NMDs in HK.

Rare Paediatric immune mediated neurological disorders

We study the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, immunological profile and clinical outcome of autoimmune encephalitis and acquired peripheral neuropathies.

Stem cell research

Our research team use patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSCs) platform to study the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms caused by protein deficiency in muscular dystrophy and rare neurogenetic diseases and for therapeutic trials using this in vitro model.
