Infection and Immunology

As a traditional strength of the Department and University, active researchers continue to strive for better understanding in endemic, epidemic and persistent human pathogens, novel entities, atopic syndromes and primary immunodeficiency syndromes. The Department is the regional referral center for children with Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders, offering comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic intervention for this group of patients, and at the same time allowing translational research to be performed. The Vaccine Research Clinic actively conducts Phase II and III trials on vaccination against chickenpox, influenza, rotavirus, and human papillomavirus.
