Research Interests
- Integration and application of genomics and multi-omics techniques in clinical medicine
- Precision medicine
- Rare disease
- Clinical genetics and genetic counselling
The rapid advancements in genomic medicine have opened new frontiers in healthcare, offering unprecedented opportunities to understand and treat human disease at a molecular level. My research focuses on the integration and application of these cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize patient care. By leveraging the principles of precision medicine, we aim to develop tailored therapeutic strategies that consider individual genetic profiles, thereby enhancing treatment efficiency and minimizing adverse effects.
A core focus of my research is the study of paediatric rare disease. These conditions, while individually uncommon, often illuminate fundamental biological mechanisms that have far-reaching implications for more prevalent diseases. Through the investigation of rare genetic disorders, we seek to uncover novel diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets that inform broader clinical applications.
Ultimately, the objective is to close the gap between genetic discovery and clinical practice. This vision supports the emergence of a more personalized, precise, and inclusive model of healthcare.
Teaching
- Paediatrics: clinical tutor for MBBS students during junior, senior and subspecialty clerkships, providing tutorials and bedside teaching across a range of paediatric disciplines.
- Clinical Genetics: clinical tutor for MBBS students, delivering foundational and applied knowledge in genomic medicine, with a focus on diagnostic evaluation and genetic counseling in a clinical context.
