Robust under the Gust Fund

Our department first published Robust under the Gust which depicted the moving stories of brave children with catastrophic diseases in September 2004 to mark our 40th anniversary. It is not only a book to record the life journeys of our fighters under the threat of serious illnesses and the unconditional love shown in these battles but also the positive attitude towards and determination against adversity. We do hope that the stories can encourage and urge you to treasure the beauty of life, and most important of all, not to give up easily as life is but once. Unlike the first edition of Robust under the Gust, this second edition published in November 2007 is for open sale, aiming to better promote the book and its spirit so conveyed in the stories.

The income and donations generated will be put under the Robust under the Gust Fund of The University of Hong Kong, which will finance the production and publicity of the book and other issues related to child health. 《疾風勁草》基金

本系於2004年9月出版《疾風勁草》一書，載錄一群生命小勇士的故事，以及他們跟家人和醫護人員之間深厚情感。透過病童或其家人述說這些親身經歷，讀者不單看到病童接受治療的過程，並且深深感受到稚子在面對逆境時那股堅毅不屈的鬥志和積極正面的人生觀。我們更希望藉此刊物，彼此鼓勵，學懂珍惜生命所賦予的一點一滴。《疾風勁草》初版為非賣品，而2007年11月再版則作公開發售，希望此書及其提倡的精神能更廣為人知。
